  • Article Sale – Read Review – Sign up for a free account and get your articles sold. They handle promotion for you.
  • AutoShopper – US, UK, and Canada. Seeking editorial writers for car-related site. Must be an auto enthusiast or very knowledgeable about automobiles. $10 to $20 per article.
  • Beacon Fire – Beaconfire Consulting seeks independent contractors to be part of the Beaconfire marketing team to develop, edit and refine campaign messaging on behalf of progressive nonprofit organizations.
  • BlogMutt – Read Review – Write blog posts for BlogMutt’s clients. If the client likes your post, you get paid.
  • Break Studios – Read Review – Pays twice a month, $8 per article. Minimum article length of 250 words.
  • Buy Keyword Articles – Read Review – Pays every two weeks with Paypal. Pays from one to five cents a word.

  • Copy Press – Read Review – Hires freelance writers in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia. Pays with direct deposit or Paypal twice a month.
  • Cracked – They claim to pay $100 for your first accepted article. You will also get a byline, so it could be good for exposure.
  • Crowd Content – Read Review – Accepts writers from US, CA, UK, and AU, possibly other countries. Earn 2 to 6.6 cents per word depending on your writer level.
  • Demand Media – Read Review – Pays between $7.50 to $20+ per article depending on what departments you are approved to write for. Pays twice a week with Paypal.

  • The Hoth – Regularly hiring native English speaking writers to create SEO content. Pay not listed, but it appears they prefer that you’ve attended a US based college. They pay with Paypal.
  • How Stuff Works – Read Review – Pay is $100+ per article. They are extremely selective.
  • IndieMade – Contribute original content about business and marketing of creative businesses. Pay depends on quality of your content. You get your profile pic listed on their contributors page if you write for them.
  • Interact Media – Read Review – Pays with Paypal twice a month.
  • Internet Brands – Read Review – Pays monthly with Paypal. Must write a sample article to be considered. They have different channels and you choose the channel you want to work in.
  • iWorkwell – Paying between $20 to $175 for written or reviewed HR content.
  • iWriter – Read Review – Get paid between $2 and $10 for articles you write. Pay out is either weekly,bi-weekly, or monthly, your choice through Paypal.
  • Kinzer Projects – This company frequently has freelance writing projects going on. They come and go, so check the page frequently to see what’s listed.
  • Kirkus Media – Hires freelance book reviewers, editors, and copywriters on a freelance basis. Work from anywhere.
  • Lifehack – They are almost always in need of paid contributors for their life hacking blog. They request that you submit at least 2-3 articles per week.
  • Life Tips – Needs SEO Specialists, copywriters, and editors.
  • Listverse – Read Review – Will pay $100 for accepted 1,000 word lists. Please note that Listverse does claim all rights to submitted content (even if not published).
  • Live Career – This company frequently has openings for freelance resume writers and CV editors.
  • LoveToKnow – Read Review – Hires freelance writers to work from home, pay is per article. Earn between $15 and $60 an article.
  • Make Use Of – Read Review – Pays writers $60 per article to start. Bonuses available in addition to that rate.
  • Matador – Get paid up to $25 for your articles. Travel website.
  • Merchant Circle – Read Review – Short articles on a variety of topics. Pay around $4 per article. You have a claim limit for titles you can claim depending on your writer level on the site.
  • Need an Article – Read Review – Pays $5 to $12 per article. Pays weekly with Paypal.
  • Newscastic – Find writing assignments for various areas in the US open to journalists. Very neatly organized with information, including pay, next to each assignment post.
  • Online Writing Jobs – Read Review – Formerly known as Quality Gal. Get paid up to $50 an article. Weekly payments made via Paypal or mailed check.
  • Patch – Read Review – Occasionally has work from home editorial positions available. Under job search and “market location,” look for the listings that say “work from home” after location to see if they are hiring in your area.
  • Plum Deluxe – Pays $30 per feature, and they do give author credit. Topics available for submission include travel, food, drink, home, goods, health and style. They have some pretty strict guidelines in place, so read those first. This appears to be more of one-off thing rather than a place that hires you to contribute regularly.
  • Pure Content – Read Review – Pays monthly via Paypal or direct deposit. Also hires editors. Familiarity with UK English is helpful with Pure Content.
  • Real Media Group – Pays between $3 and $5 per article.
  • Red Tricycle – This company has regular openings for contributor, usually looking for parents since their site is geared towards parents. Pay may be around $50 per article, plus they give you a byline.
  • Remilon – Read Review – Get paid twice monthly with Paypal. Independent contractor position. Must produce minimum of 5 articles per week.
  • Resume Edge – Read Review – Frequently has openings for resume writers. Prefers experience. Pay is per assignments with possible bonuses.
  • RiseSmart – Hires remote resume writers. Pays hourly to start.
  • Scripted – Read Review – Write tweets, blogs, and Facebook posts. Sign up manually or by using your Facebook account.
  • Search Influence – Make roughly $15 an hour writing SEO content. They supply the articles you need to write plus keywords & other info. Pretty much everything comes with a 24 hour turnaround time.
  • Search Sciences – Hiring from US, Canada, and UK. Pays roughly $15 per article.
  • Skyword – Read Review – Some upfront pay but also offers revenue share.
  • SmartBrief – Read Review – Has freelance writing/journalist jobs available regularly that are work from home. These are often news-related writing. To find the home jobs, type in “freelance” for your search terms in the keyword box on their site.
  • Student Experts – Get paid $8 to $12 hourly to create content for small business blogs.
  • Talent, Inc. – Read Review – Get paid $20 per project to create resumes for Talent, Inc.’s clients. Formerly known as RezBiz.
  • Textbroker – Read Review – Textbroker hires beginners & experienced writers to create content for their clients. Pay is weekly via Paypal on Fridays.
  • Textbroker UK – The UK version of the Textbroker website. Hiring writers from the UK, Australia, Canada, and Britain.
  • Textmaster – Read Review – Hires writers, translators, and proofreaders to work from home. Must send in samples to be considered. The amount of work available will vary. Payments can be made to Paypal when you have earned at least $65.
  • The Content Authority – Read Review – Similar to Textbroker. Hires in Canada & US. Pays weekly with Paypal.
  • The Expeditioner – Currently paying $30 for travel articles typically over 1,000 words.
  • Tripbase – Get paid $25 to $30 per article for travel content.
  • WL Marketing – This a company that provides SEO services. They appear to have an ongoing need for article writers.
  • WebSiteText – They always have a need for website content writers and experienced SEO copywriters.
  • wiseGEEK – Read Review – This company is not currently hiring. Will update if that changes.
  • Word Gigs – Read Review – US residents can earn between $1 and $4 for blurbs and short articles.
  • Words of Worth – Read Review – Open to US, Canada, France, Germany, UK and more. Pays out once a month via bank transfer.
  • World Start – This site pays between $25 to $50 an article. Mostly computer tips/ideas. Pays with Paypal.
  • Writer’s Domain – Read Review – Hires English, French, and Spanish speaking writers on occasion. Pays with Paypal.
  • Writers Needed – Often looking for professional writers. Pay is $11 to $13 for 300 words.
  • Write.com – Read Review – Work is done through MTurk. Pays up to $2.25 for 250 words.
  • Writer Access – Read Review – Similar to Textbroker, but pay is higher and there is less work. US only. Pays out once a month if you have at least $10 earned.
  • Zen Content – Read Review – This company has great feedback and frequently has freelance writing/editing projects you can work on. Formerly known as Triple Curve.
Revenue Share
  • Knoji – Read Review – Earn money for writing consumer guides. The higher your author rank, the more you can earn.
  • All Voices – The All Voices incentive program offers writers performance-based pay.
  • Helium – Read Review – Create articles and get paid revenue share based on the article popularity and your participation on the site.
  • Hubpages – Read Review – Earn ongoing revenue share for publishing hubs through Adsense, Kontera, and Amazon.
  • News for Shoppers – This site needs people to write about products, stores, consumer topics, etc. and in return they give 70 percent Adsense revenue share.
  • Newslines – Read Review – Pays you revenue share for 50-100 word posts. Payments are made almost daily with Paypal.
  • Triond – Earn 50 percent of the revenue from your writing, videos, photographs, or music.
